Ford Fiesta S2000 Rally Car Wins Monte Carlo Rally
Finnish WRC ace Mikko Hirvonen takes time out of his WRC schedule to batter the IRC regulars in the new Ford Fiesta S2000 on the Monte Carlo rally.

Fresh from its rather confident reveal of the new Focus at the Detroit Motor Show, Ford can now enjoy the fact that its brand new Fiesta S2000 rally car has won on its first proper rally.
First time winner
Ford’s number one WRC driver Mikko Hirvonen drove the Fiesta S2000 to victory in the opening round of the 2010 Intercontinental Rally Challenge. And that’s a seriously impressive achievement given that the Fiesta was only homologated as a competition car by the FIA on 15th January.
Will this be a one-off?
Hirvonen normally drives a Focus in the WRC championship. But looking at the WRC and IRC calendars there are only two dates where the events clash – the IRC rally of Curitiba in Brazil and WRC event in Mexico, and the IRC rally Asturias in Spain and WRC Rally Japan. That certainly gives Ford some options for yet more exposure of its global Fiesta.
